Imphal, April 25 2022:
On the eve of the alleged 'Indian Colonialism Resist Day' (April 26), the proscribed PREPAK has called upon all the people of the land to stand united against adversary forces.
According to a statement issued by the outfit's Charge de'Affairs, Publicity and Propaganda LeibaakNgaakpa Luwang, PREPAK has been observing April 26 as 'Colonialism Resist Day' in commemoration of the Patsoi-Langjing massacre of 1980 (committed by troops of CRPF) and other atrocities committed by Indian military forces upon innocent people of Manipur (Kangleipak) .
It informed that the outfit would observe 'Colonialism Resist Day' tomorrow at its central headquarters, general headquarters, transit headquarters, transit camps, training centres and other offices.
It alleged that the Indian military forces had committed a number of massacres, genocides and selective killings on the soil of Kangleipak.
The people of Kangleipak have been suffering miserably for the past many decades under the Government of India's alleged policy of suppression, it said.
The outfit also listed a number of killings committed by Indian military forces over the years including the Patsoi Langjing massacre of April 26, 1980; killing of four civilians at Oinam Leikai on November 21, 1980; Heirangoithong massacre of March 14, 1984; the killing of 15 innocent civilians at Oinam village, Senapati district on July 11, 1987; the killing of five civilians at Sagolband Tera Keithel on March 25, 1993; the killing of four people at Makui, Tamenglong on July 28, 1994, the killing of four people at Nungkao, Tamenglong on September 25, 1994, the killing of nine people at RIMS (then RMC) on January 7, 1995; the killing of three persons at Bashikhong Lamlong on February 19, 1995; the killing of three persons at Ukhrul on May 9, 1995; the killing of five persons at Tabokpikhong on August 12, 1997; the killing of nine people at Nungleiban on October 15, 1997; the massacre of 10 people at Tonsen Lamkhai on September 23, 2000, the Malom massacre of November 2, 2000, the rape and brutal murder of Thangjam Manorama on July 13, 2004 etc.
It was the Patsoi Langjing incident of April 26, 1980 which deeply hurt the sentiments of all patriotic people and gave a new impetus to the raging liberation movement, the outfit claimed.
On April 26,1980, CRPF personnel shot dead 4 innocent civilians including a pregnant woman, besides torturing many others including the aged, at Patsoi Langjing after some cadres of PREPAK eliminated two CRPF personnel and inflicted serious injuries on another personnel and decamped with two rifles, it said.
What happened at Patsoi Langjing in 1980 exposed the ugly face of the security force of India, alleged PREPAK and added that it is to denounce the excesses of the security personnel that April 26 has been observed as 'Indian Colonialism Resist Day' .
The outfit further called upon all the people to raise the slogan 'Indian military forces, leave Kangleipak' collectively.
