Semifinals battle lines have been drawn with end of quarter finals matches in the 1st (L) Athokpam Chaorel Singh Memorial 7 A Side Men's Open Football Tournament being organized by TOP FC (TFC) at SAC Ground on Wednesday.
NEFSA FC Kshetri Mayai Leikai will play YYV while WFC (A), Moirangkhom will face WFC (B), Moirangkhom in the semifinal matches on May 29 .
NEFSA FC Kshetri Mayai Leikai had to come from behind to register a dramatic win against YDCL Pungdongbam to advance into the semifinals.
YDCL scored three early goals in 12th; 23rd and 28th min through Thoi; Ranbir and Telheiba to be place in advantage position in the match.
However, NEFSA FC players had other ideas as they started found their rhythm and created scoring chances to come back into the match.
YDCL wilt under the sustained pressure and let in goals while the strikes could not added further goals.
NEFSA came back into the match by scoring three goals through Imran; Sohail and Sabir in 32nd; 38th and 47th min to tie the match.
Both the teams could not added further goals and the match ended in 3-3.Kicks from penalty was introduce to decide the winner but both teams again ended in tie.
With no other option left toss was introduce to decide the faith of the teams.
In the toss NEFSA emerge the lucky winner while YDCL were left cursing their faith.
In the other quarterfinal, WFC (B) out clash EUSC Tellou 6-2 to move into semifinals.
WFC (B) victory was on the performance of Sanatomba who scored three goals in 18th; 34th and 46th min.
WFC (B) advance into semifinals was initiated by Milan in 4th min of the match.
The early goal of Milan open the flood gate for his fellow players to pumped in goals in regularly.
Pritam and Kishan also added one each to WFC (B) kitty in 36th and 46th min.
While, EUSC Tellou players could reply back only two goals through Aboy and Ramananda in 25th and 48th min.
The efforts of Tellou players fell short of the line and ended up in the losing side.
