JAC Chehlep Tengnoupal strike ends

Moreh, May 27 2015 :
, MAY 27 (HNS): The 48-hour Tengnoupal general strike imposed by JAC Chehlep on the demand for removal of the Harmon camp of KNO/KNLF from Tengnoupal Block under Chandel district before the Autonomous District Council (ADC) polls, ended peacefully on Wednesday.
The strike had begun on the intervening midnight of May 25 and May 26 .

The JAC has pledged to take up fresh agitation after the council polls if the demand is not met at the earliest.
No untoward incidents were reported during the strike.
Groups of strike supporters blocked roads in Saivom, Tengnoupal and Sita villages, and traffic along Moreh-Pallel section of National Highway 102 was totally disrupted by the strike.
