Imphal, May 27 2015 :
The executive council of All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) has come out with new rules for CC Meet which are to be implemented with effect from the ensuing 59th edition of the tournament this year.
Accordingly, the erstwhile qualifying rounds of the tournament will be scrapped from this year's edition.
AMFA has also amongst others decided to reduce the number of participating teams and to reduce the number of days for the tournament, said an office memorandum issued by general secretary of AMFA, Ranjit Roy.
MSL clubs relegated from the current MSL would not be invited for CC Meet.
Besides, the EC of AMFA has also decided to invite only one top team each of the top division leagues of the DSAs/DFAs.
Top division means super division/1st division of the districts which have no super division, AMFA elaborated.
Clubs from the DSAs/DFAs failing to hold or complete the top division league for the year concerned should not be allowed to participate in the tournament.
Participation in the name of district team would not be allowed, AMFA said.
