Yarkhok to meet UUFC in final Araang League lands in controversial decision

UUFC will play Yarkhok in the final of the ongoing 1st Araang League 2014 .
In the first semi final of the day played at Pakshi Ground, UUFC's Tuishim scored his side's opening goal in the 46th minute but Changvei FC bounced back in the 69th minute from Raingarpam to make the final scoreline 1-1 .
In the penalty shootout, UUCC's Shomi, Ayat, Ramreisang and Yungrei succesfully converted their shots.
Changvei managed to score two goals from Thanyangam and Raipam and went down by a margin of 5 goals to 4 .
In today's second semi final at TNL Ground, Yarkhok FC defeated Faith Trust by a margin of 4 goals to two in yet another penalty shootout, after both team failed to break the deadlock during till the regulation time.
Thotereishang, Boyai, Yaimi and Themyai contributed one goal each for Yarkhok while Peimingam and Neathonshor scored for Faith Trust.
The Araang league organisers declared Yarkhok FC winner of yesterday's second ground quarter final match after the TNVSA players walked out from the ground to register their protest against the decision of the umpires.
Coincidentally in today's first semi final match between UUFC and Changvei FC, supporters of Changvei FC intentionally hit centre referee Wungleng during the tie break.
This led to a commotion amongst the supporters of both sides.
The situation was however was brought under control after some time.
However, the kick off for the second semi final was delayed for three hours after the controversy in the first match with the TNVSA demanding a review of the decision while Ukhrul District Referee Association demanded an immediate and unconditional withdrawal of the match referee.
The Araang league organisers instantaneously convened a joint meeting with the referee's association and discussed the matter for more than three hours at UDSA office and brought an amicable solution.
The Ukhrul District Referee Association condemned the assault of their colleague Wungleng and also demanded that the offender offer an unconditional apology, as well as to award befitting punishment as per the rule.
The organisers after deliberation and viewing the matter seriously, resolved that the organizer will convene an emergency meeting after today's match to discuss their future course of action against the offenders, who hit/slapped the referee that disturbed the match.
Changvei FC and Faith Trust will play for the third place on December 13 at 12 pm TNL ground, Ukhrul.
NPF president Ex MLA 52 Tamei AC Awangbou Newmai, Idea Cellular Area Sales Manager Khathing Luiram and HIDSAM president SR Luikham will be the special guest, chief guest and president respectively for the third place match.
