Man rapes cousin sister

Imphal, December 11 2014:
In a gruesome manner, a man allegedly raped his sister-in-law at Tekcham under Kakching Police Station yesterday night.
The rapist has been identified as Langpoklakpam Sanjoy of Tekcham Keithel Maning Moirangthem Leirak.
According to the victim's family, the victim who is a mother was helping her husband in cleaning their farm located at Lousipat since the last three days.
On the behest of her husband, the victim returned back to their house to bring food yesterday evening.
While she was preparing food in the presence of her children, Sanjoy suddenly entered the house and asked the victim whether she will be going back to the farm or not.
While the victim was on its way back to the farm along with the food, Sanjoy forcibly pulled her in an isolated place and allegedly raped her.
He even threatened the victim of killing her if she revealed his act to anyone.
The victim after returning back to the house recounted the rape ordeal to her family members.
On coming across the news, incensed locals ransacked house of the accused.
It is said that police have taken Sanjoy into custody.
Following the incident, a public meeting was held this evening with Pradhan of Tekcham Gram Panchayat, Langpoklakpam Phullojao in the chair wherein it unanimously resolved to banish Sanjot from the locality for his heinous act.
Meanwhile, a male tutor who is accused of raping a minor girl aged only 1-year-old while teaching at Urup Litan Makhong under Irilbung Police Station on October 18 last has been asked to leave the locality along with his family members within five days of time.
A decision to this effect was taken during a public meeting convened today in connection with the incident.
The accused has been identified as Nongthombam Barun (34) of Urup Litan Makhong.
The incident came to light after the victim's brother who is also a student of Barun informed their family members that the minor girl was repeatedly raped by the accused tutor.
Family members of the victim brought her to conduct medical examination in JNIMS Hospital on December 9 last.
A team of women police of Porompat Police Station was also present during the medical examination following a complaint filed by the victim's family members.
The team interrogated the victim during which she revealed that Barun had raped her repeatedly.
Police have already arrested the accused in connection with the incident.
Taking strong exception to the incident, a public meeting was held this morning around 8 at Urup Litan Makhong which was chaired by Pradhan of Keirao Makting Gram Panchayat.
The meeting unanimously resolved to constitute a Joint Action Committee by amalgamating Urup Arapti Coordinating Committee and Urup Arapti Apunba Meira Paibi Joint Action Committee.
Subsequent upon its formation, the JAC resolved to ostracize Barun along with his family members from the locality.
