Sepaktakraw: Manipur add silver, bronze to end campaign with six medals

Manipur women's team faltered at the final hurdle while the men's squad finished third in the quad competition of the 33rd Senior National Sepaktakraw Championship 2023 at Nagpur, Maharashtra on Wednesday.
The state women lost out to SSB in their summit clash and had to be content with the silver medal.
They took the first set 21-19 but came up short in the next two sets, losing 14-21, 17-21 to their opponents.
Earlier, the women's team outplayed Goa 21-9, 21-13 and then cruised past Madhya Pradesh 21-3, 21-3 into the semifinals where they beat Nagaland 21-14, 21-15 .
On the other hand, the state men were stopped by SSB in the semifinals after suffering a 17-21, 18-21 defeat.
Earlier, the men's squad upstaged Uttarakhand 21-8, 21-6 on their way to the quarterfinals where they got the better of Andhra Pradesh 18-21, 21-13, 21-14 before being outperformed by SSB in their semifinal contest.
Notably, Manipur won six medals, including a gold, across team, regu and quad competitions in the 33rd Senior National Sepaktakraw Championship 2023 which wrapped up on Wednesday.
In the team's event, the women's team clinched the gold medal after defeating Nagaland in the final while the state eves in both regu and quad events claimed silver medals.
Meanwhile, Manipur in the men's team event settled for the silver medal while the men's teams in both regu and quad events finished with a bronze medal.
