Sharda calls for discarding sectarian mindset

BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi has called upon all the ethnic communities to discard sectarian outlook and mindset and work towards promoting peace and prosperity in the state.
She said that the collective wish of the people for unity and development could be realised when all the ethnic communities living in the state discard their differences and develop a collective thought that all are sons and daughters of the soil.
For bringing a bright future, all the ethnic communities should work in the common interest of the state while putting behind Sectarian ideas, Sharda said, while addressing the gathering at the Sajibu Khudol Tamba, Eegi Khongul Leeba event jointly organised by Iramdam Kanba Apunba Lup (IKAL) and Social Upliftment Organisation at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound, here, on Wednesday.
The BJP state president, who attended as chief guest of the event, strongly called for discarding the word 'I' and putting the word 'We' in the forefront and working towards bringing a collective unity in the state.
She also expressed hope that events like Sajibu Khu dol Tamba, Eegi Khongul Leeba, which brings together all the blood-brothers, would help in fostering unity and integrity among all the ethnic communities of Manipur.
She expressed her desire for conducting such programmes at different places of the state so that love and understanding among different communities could be strengthened.
The event was also attended by AMWJU president Wangkhemcha Shamjai, social worker Kh Menjor Mangang, Tomching and Tangkhul Performance chairman Nelson Chingthung, CIRCA president Th Somorendro, Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Mahasabha (central committee) president Anil Singha Gautam and IKAL president N Mema Leima as presidium members.
