Cops sensitised on JJ and POCSO Act

A sensitisation programme for the police personnel of Kakching district on 'Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012' was organised by District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Kakching at the conference hall of Kakching SP on Wednesday.
Delivering the presidential address of the event, SP Shrey Vats informed that many cases related with JJ Act and POCSO Act have been registered at police stations and as such there is the need for the police personnel to acquaint themselves with the provisions of the Acts.
Therefore, the programme has been organised to impart basic knowledge on the said Acts through the presentations and speeches of resource persons.
As resource persons of the programme, DCPU legal cum probation officer Reena Chanu Moirangthem and MU Department of Law assistant professor Sapam Dilipkumar spoke on 'Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015' and 'Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012' respectively.
