CM commits to welfare, development of all

Chief Minister N Biren Singh has affirmed that the government looks at all communities settling in the state with an equal eye and is working for the welfare and development of all communities.
Speaking at the 'Vishwa Kalyan Varta' organised to commemorate the 2550th "Nirvan-Year" of Lord Mahavir, held at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, here, on Wednesday, he expressed satisfaction that all the communities in the state are striving for harmonious co-existence.
Many people have dedicated their lives to the cause of mankind with the message of peace, love and harmony.
It is because of their dedications, we are able to live together, he said.
The chief minister also mentioned about the dedication and hard work of Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards making India a strong nation.
Further stating people of the Jain community in Manipur are peace loving, hardworking and have patience, he reminded all concerned that the message of Lord Mahavir teaches us the idea of peaceful co-existence and togetherness.
In her address, Governor Anusuiya Uikey assured that she would extend all possible help in the works and activities of the state government which are for the welfare of the people of Manipur.
Anusuiya Uikey pointed out that those who work selflessly for the welfare of the public are always remembered.
While commending people of Manipur belonging to different caste, creed and religion living in harmony, she said "Live and Let live" is the only message of Lord Mahavir which is the best gift for humanity.
The Governor also stressed that though one may belong to any religion, creed or sect, the message is meant for every human being.
"Lord Mahavir in his discourses laid maximum emphasis on Dharma, Satya, Ahimsa, Brahmacharya and Forgiveness.
Sacrifice and restraint, love and compassion, modesty and virtue were the essence of his discourses.
We are blessed in a country where incarnations like Gods and Goddesses and Tirthankar Lord Mahavir Swami took birth and purified this land.
Let the messages of Lord Mahavir help in spreading peace, sacrifice and overall prosperity in the state of Manipur," she added.
The Governor further said that we have a number of sages and saints who have been spreading messages, principles and teachings to the people.
"Devendra Brahmachari is also giving his contribution towards the society and the country.
Following the religion of Sanyas, he is working for the benefit of different sections of the society by teaching harmony and unity," she added.
The function was also attended by Jan Arogyam Foundation founder Devendra Brahmachari; Thangmeiband MLA Khumukcham Joykisan; Babina Group of Companies chairman and managing director Dr Thangjam Dhabali, Jan Arogyam Foundation trustee Vinod Sethi and Manoj Jain among others.
A booklet on the life of Jan Arogyam Foundation founder Devendra Brahmachari was also released on the occasion.
