National Powerlifting Championship : Manipur women's team finish benchpress runners up

Manipur women's team finished benchpress runners up in the National Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior and Masters Equipped Powerlifting Championship and National Bench Press Equipped Championship 2023 hosted in Karnataka under the aegis of Indian Powerlifting Federation from May 12 to 14 .
The State women's benchpress team gathered 2 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals to finished runners up as Manipur finished with a haul of 3 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals in benchpress and 1 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals in powerlifting.
In the junior girls benchpress competition, Naorem Jessica won a bronze medal in the 63 kg category with by lifting 25 kg and Deepashee Uiokchom bagged another bronze medal in 84 kg category with a 20 kg finish.
In the senior women's 47 kg category, Thoudam Bidyarani lifted 47.5 kg to win a gold medal while Khoisnam Anjali bagged a bronze medal with a 20 kg finish in the same category.
In the senior women's 52 kg category, Huidrom Dayarani bagged a gold medal by recording highest 47.5 kg as L Cherishma bagged a silver medal with a 45 kg lift.
In the 57 kg competition, Khoisnam Sunitabala bagged a silver medal by recording 42.5 kg lift as Sapam Anita managed 37.5 kg in the same category to settle for a bronze medal.
In the senior women's 84+ category, Oinam Kalpana clinched a bronze medal with a 67.5 kg finish.
In the senior men's benchpress competition, Huidrom Irabanta bagged a silver medal in the 105 kg category by lifting 142.5 kg while Thingbaijam Premojit clinched a gold medal in the 120 kg category by recording highest 175 kg.
In senior women's powerlifting, Thoudam Bidyarani sealed a silver medal with a 189 kg finish including 62.5 kg in squatting and 80 kg in deadlift while L Cherishma bagged a bronze medal with a total of 220 kg including 70 kg in squaring and 105 kg in deadlift.
In the senior women's 84+ category, O Kalpana finished with 297.5 kg total lift including 110 kg in squaring and 120 kg in deadlift.
In the Ml (Masters) 74 kg category, Nongthombam Murgesan clinched a gold medal managing 160 kg in squaring, 155 kg in deadlift and 102 kg in powerlifting while Mangshatabam Prasanta bagged a bronze medal by recording 195 kg in squaring.
190 kg in deadlift and 117.5 kg in benchpress.
