34 MLAs for ending SO deal with Kuki outfits

Imphal, May 17 2023:
Following a memorandum submitted by 10 Kuki MLAs demanding separate administration for the Kuki and its kindred tribes, 34 MLAs from BJP and its alliance partners submitted a three-point demand to the Central government on Wednesday.
Immediate withdrawal of Suspension of Operation (So0) agreement signed with Kuki armed groups is one of the three demands mentioned in the joint memorandum of the 34 MLAs.
Source said that the 34 MLAs include Mao MLA L Dikho, Phungyar MLA Leishiyo Keis-hing, Tamenglong MLA Jang-hemlung Panmei, Tamei MLA Awangbow Newmai, Chingai MLA Khashim Vashum, Karong MLA Z Kumo Sha and Ukhrul MLA Ram Muivah from among Naga community, and Lilong MLA Md Abdul Nasir and Kshetrigao MLA Md Noor-ul Hassan who belong to the Meetei Pangal community.
The Meetei MLAs are Thongju MLA Th Biswajit, Y Khemchand (Singjamei), L Rameshwor (Keirao), S Rajen (Lamsang), RK Imo (Sagolband), Th Arunkumar (Wangkhei), Kh Ibomcha (Lamlai), H Dingo {Sekmai), Nishikant Sapam Keishamthong), Th Shanti Moirang), K Govindas (Bish-nupur), Th Basanta (Nambol), Sapam Keba (Patsoi), Kh Joy - kisan (Thangmeiband), Dr S Ranjan (Konthoujam), L Susin-dro (Khurai), Dr U Deben (Wa-bagai), K Robindro (Mayang Imphal), Kh Loken (Wangoi), S Premchandra (Kumbi), I Nalini (Oinam), S Kebi (Naoriya Pa - khanglakpa), Th Shyamkumar (Andro), and Thanga MLA T Robindro.
The three demands raised by the 34 MLAs are deploy-ment of adequate security in Moreh, Churachandpur and other areas of the state in order to ensure adequate security to people of all communities, immediate withdrawal of So0 agreement signed with the armed Kuki armed groups by the Central government, and deployment of central security forces in sensitive areas of the state.
The memorandum was sub-mitted to the union home min-ister Amit Shah through Ma-nipur security advisor Kuldiep Singh on Wednesday.
Mention may be made that after the violence broke out in the state on May 3 after a tribal solidarity march turned violent in Churachandpur district, the central government sent Kuldiep Singh as the security advisor to the government of Manipur on May 4.On the next day, chief min-ister N Biren chaired a joint meeting of council of min - isters, MLAs, senior officials of BSF, CRPF, AR and intelli-gence at the CM's secretariat, in which strategies and mea-sures to control the violence was discussed.
Later, on May 13, 10 Kuki MLAs issued a joint press re-lease demanding separate ad-ministration and later on May 15, they submitted a memo-randum to union home min-ister Amit Shah with the same demand while alleging Meetei community of carrying out ethnic cleansing of the Kuki tribe.
