Imphal, May 17 2023:
The Kangleipak Kanba Lup has reiterated that "the ongoing conflict is not between the Kukis and the Meiteis, but one with the Meiteis on one side and the armed Kuki-Chin militants of Myanmarese origin and the Assam Rifles on the other side" .
In a statement today, KKL said all Kuki SoO militant's should be brought back to their designated camps or else they should be declared as unlawful organisations.
Asking why the Government and the paramilitary forces have not taken any pro-active action against Kuki militants attacking civilians, KKL asserted that the Security Advisor to State Government is silent about the number of Kuki militants missing from the camps and the number of missing arms and ammunition.
It also asked about the number of designated camps inspected and verified so far.
KKL farther alleged that the RAF and CRPF have been ' deployed only in Imphal areas and not in the interiors.
While 10 Kuki MLAs have spoken out their demand for a separate administration from the Meiteis and Nagas, why are the remaining 50 MLAs silent ? .
"Why are the Kukis afraid of the house to house and persons survey initiated by the Government ? And what makes the Kukis think that the Reserved and Protected Forests areas do no come under the Indian Forest Act and that it belong to them ?" asked KKL.
It reiterated that the SoO militants should be kept inside their designated camps and only then the displaced Meitei people would be willing to return to their original homes in Churachandpur district.
