Many extend relief items

The Indian Red Cross Society with the Nagaland State Branch visited displaced people who are currently talcing refuge at various relief ] camps in Kangpokpi Headquarters today.
Around 20 members of the Indian Red Cross Society Senapati District Branch and Nagaland State Branch also met the Kangpokpi Town Relief Committee and Kangpokpi District Relief Committee at their offices at Brig M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi.
The team provided relief items such as rice, blankets, soaps, sanitary pads, mosquito nets, masks, hygiene kits etc in bulk to the relief camps.
They also interacted with the displaced people at relief camps of Kuki Baptist Convention Centre Church Kangpokpi; Kangpokpi Christian Church and Kangpokpi Independent Baptist Church and interacted with the displaced people while highlighting the roles and responsibilities of the Indian Red Cross Society in times of crisis.
Benjamin Tao, Chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society Senapati District Branch said 'We are impartial and we have no boundary' and see that the affected people are not left unattended.
Kakching
Sugnu Assembly Constituency MLA Kangujam Ranjit donated Rs 20, 000, 15 bags of rice and edible items like potatoes, pulses etc to Kakching Higher Secondary School relief camp.
Son of Sugnu AC MLA, Kangujam Saityajit visited the relief camp and handed over the monetary aid and relief items to the organisers of the relief camp.
It may be noted that villagers of Phunal Sambum Village also donated vegetables for the inmates of the camp.
The relief camp is being managed by the Committee for Peace and Social Harmony Head Office Kakching and at present 148 inmates are staying in the camp.
The Relief Committee expressed gratitude to all who have been extending support to the relief camp owing to which the camp is able to run smoothly without shortage till date.
Meanwhile, another relief centre was opened at Grace Cottage Academy at Kakching Lourel Lambi yesterday to provide shelter to people displaced displaced by the communal clash which erupted on May 3 last.
The Peace Committee Kaching opened the new relief centre under the aegis of Kakching District Administration, Kakching DC and Kakching AC MLA.
A relief camp management committee has also been formed to look after the requirements of the camp which has 28 inmates.

Patanjali Yoga Centres of Khoirom, Malom and Leirongthel extended relief items to relief centres of Khoirom and Mayai Keithel today under the aegis of Bharat Swabhiman Trust and Patanjali
Yoga Samiti Thoubal.
