IRCS teams meet displaced people in Kpi

Kangpokpi, May 17 2023:
Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Senapati District Branch along with the Nagaland State Branch visited displaced people putting up in various re-lief camps in Kangpokpi district headquarters on Wednesday.
Around 20 members of the IRCS Senapati and Na-galand also met the Kang-pokpi Town Relief Commit-tee and Kangpokpi District Relief Committee at their offices at Brig M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi town.
IRCS Senapati and Naga-land also distributed relief items such as rice, blanket, blanket rugs, mattress-es, soaps, sanitary pads, mosquito net, tarpaulin, t -shirts, masks, hygiene kits, etc.

They also visited relief camps set up at Kuki Baptist Convention Centre Church, Kangpokpi, Kangpokpi Christian Church and Kang-pokpi Independent Baptist Church and interacted with the displaced people while highlighting the roles and responsibilities of the IRCS in times of crisis.
Speaking on the occa-sion, IRCS Senapati chair-man Benjamin Tao informed that the IRCS branch like other branches around the globe, has been carrying out humanitarian service for the past 20 years, and in the present Manipur crisis they have even transported bodies and patients injured in the clashes to Nagaland.
