S Khomunnom YC lift TAYA champions' trophy

The 45th annual sports meet of Tujang Area Youth Association (TAYA) ended with S Khomunnom Youth lifting the champions' trophy in the main event football after defeating defending champions Cananphai Youth Club in the final match on Monday.
The closing ceremony was attended by former ADC Sadar Hills member Lam-minthang Kipgen as chief guest on behalf of commerce & industries minister Nemcha Kipgen, who could not attend the event owing to an official prior engagement.
Keithelmanbi Village Authority chairman Lhunkho mang Mangjel was the functional president while former ADC Sadar Hills member Milan Pradhan and Gamnom Saparmeina Police Station OC Inspector Lutminthang Kipgen were present as guests of honour.
In the urider-13 football, K Sajal Kids Club won the champions' trophy while Gamnomphai Kids Club finished runners-up.
In men's volleyball, K Munnomjang Youth Club bagged the title defeating K Sajal Youth Club while in women's volleyball, Saikotjang Youth Club and Gamnomphai Youth Club bagged the top two positions respectively.
In the senior football final match, S Khomunnom Youth Club found the opener through Thangsohang in the 17th minute but it was cancelled by Cananphai Youth Club through Lalgoumin in the 50th minute of the second half as the normal period ended in a 1-1 draw.
In the penalty shoot-out, S Khomunnom Youth Club won the match in an aggregate of 6-5 and clinched the title.
Individual prize winners in senior football are Thang-songin of S Khomunnom YC (best defender), Thanggoumang of S Khomunnom YC (best goalkeeper), Manglun Kipgen of Saikotjang YC (best midfielder), Lamgunlal kipgen of P Khothah Part-II (best striker), Laljalen Singson of Cananphai YC (top scorer, and man of the tournament), Nehgin Touthang of Gamnnomphai YC (hattrick), and Seilenchung Khongsai of Ngahmun YC (emerging player).
In under-13 football, Hangminthang of K Sajal Kids Club was awarded the best player title while in women s volleyball, Lhinghoiching of Saikotjang YC and Hatneineng Kipgen of Molsang YC were awarded best spiker and best setter respectively.
Jangmol Youth Club was awarded the title of having maximum number of fans in the tournament while Dem-mang Kipgen of Saikotjang village was awarded 'fans of the tournament' .
