CM Biren joins BJP rally, meets Tripura Meeteis

Imphal, January 30 2023:
Chief minister N Biren Singh took part in filing of nomination paper for Tripura chief minister and BJP candidate Dr Manik Shah as also election rally/roadshow for the party for the 13th Tripura state assembly election.
The filing of nomination for Dr Manik Shah on Monday was also joined by Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra.
CM Biren was reportedly received at Agartala airport by Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
Taking advantage of his visit related with election campaign, CM Biren inspected the present condition of Manipur Cultural Centre in Agartala, the foundation stone for which was laid by the then Manipur chief minister RK Joychandra in 1988.After the inspection, CM Biren told media persons that construction of the Manipur Cultural Centre would be completed soon and one Manipur Bhavan will be constructed in Tripura.
Later, CM Biren along with Sambit Patra and state CAF & PD minister L Susindro visited the sacred site of Lainingthou Puthiba in Agartala and prayed for blessings from the sylvan diety.
CM Biren also met Meeteis living nearby and enquired about their well-being.
Filled with emotions on seeing Meetei people living in Tripura, CM Biren also thanked them for according a warm welcome.
Earlier in the day, Tripura chief minister and senior BJP leader Manik Saha filed his nomination to contest in the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
Monday (January 30) was the last date for filing of nomination papers for the Tripura assembly elections.
Manik Saha filed his nomination papers as a BJP candidate from Town Bardowali constituency in Tripura.
Tripura CM and BJP leader Manik Saha held a road show before filing his nomination for Tripura assembly elections.
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Manipur CM Biren Singh also accompanied him in the road show.
Polling for the elections to the 60-member Tripura legislative assembly will be held in a single phase on February 16.Counting of votes will be done on March 2 .
