After playing a keenly contested match, two goals from striker Lhungdim took Kuki Sporting Club (KSC), Lambulane into the semi final rounds of the ongoing 54th CC Meet organized by the All Manipur Football Association under the sponsorship of Manipur State Aids Control Society (MACS) at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Imphal.
KSC beat SSB 2-0 in a keenly contested quarter final match to enter into the semi final rounds.
KSC will play their semi final match with the winner of tomorrow's quarter final match which is to be played between AIM, Khabam Lamkhai and TRAU, Kwakeithel.
"If we managed to win the semi final match, then we will surely win this year's title" said SSB coach, Haopu Neishiel.
His players are young and energetic.
He said that SSB team is a very good team.
It may be recalled that KSC had won the runners up title in the year 1956 .
SSB coach, O Kulla said that the main reason behind their defeat is the inability of the goalkeeper.
Above all the two goals of KSC were scored in free kicks.
The two goals of KSC hit a major blow to the mind of the players, he said.
He also said that his team is a set of new players and they need better coordination.
Today's match was played very competitively.
Both goals of KSC were scored by Thenlal Lhungdim in free kicks.
The first goal was scored in the 31st minute of the match when they were awarded a free kick after Thangthang Kom of SSB played foul against Thangminlal Gangte.
He scored the second goal in the 84th minute.
It may be mentioned that 10 state league teams were knocked out so far from the tournament.
AIM, Khabam Lamkhai and TRAU, Kwakeithel will play the last quarter final match tomorrow at 1.30 pm.
