Following detection of a candidate, who is the son of a former Minister in the SPF Government, possessing OBC certificate in the recently held recruitment of medical and dental doctors in State Health Department through Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC), the case has been referred to the Law Department for examination.
According to an official source, MPSC had conducted recruitment test of 329 medical doctors and 39 dental doctors for appointment in the Health Department.
However, the son of a former Minister in the Chief Minister Ibobi Singhled SPF Government was found to be among the selected candidates who claim to be OBC when the certificates were send for verification by the Deputy Commissioners concerned.
The reports of the verification conducted by the Deputy Commissioners concerned on the OBC certificates of about 100 candidates have been submitted to the Health Services and based on these reports, offer forms have been issued to some selected candidates, the source disclosed, adding that offer form for the son of the exMinister has been withheld.
The source went on to disclosed that the son in question is that of Abdul Salam, who was elected from Wabagai Assembly Constituency and went on to become a Minister in the SPF Government.
After detection of OBC claim by the son of an exMinister, the Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal has referred the case to the Law Department for examination.
The case has been referred to the Law Department to find out whether the claim of OBC status by children of the parents who have held Constitutional posts is valid or not, the source explained, adding that as of now, the Law Department is yet to review the case.
Moreover, among the selected candidates, 18 of them are in internship.
Again, among these 18 selected doctors, there are candidates who claim to have passed MBBS from Nepal, who are yet to be registered or undergo the test conducted by the Medical Council of India to become a certified medical practitioner, the source disclosed.
Accordingly, the State Government has given necessary instructions to these selected candidates for undergoing the required test of MCI and register themselves, the source added.
The source informed that the issuing of offer forms to the selected doctors is likely to be conducted by the Government within the current month and latest by early part of the next year.
Although offer forms have been issued to some selected candidates, appointment orders have not been given to any of them, the source added.
