Imphal, December 18 2010:
The 15th State Level Youth Festival held at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium since December 15 has concluded today.
Youngsters coming from the nine districts and two sub-divisions participated in the festival.
Competitions on various disciplines such as guitar, flute, harmonium, folk dance etc were held during the festival.
Resource persons from different departments and institutions including JN Dance Academy, Art and Culture Department, Shri Shri Balmukunda Music College made up the jury of these competitions.
Teams and individuals selected from this festival would represent Manipur in the National Youth Festival scheduled to be held at Udaipur, Rajasthan in January next year.
On the concluding day of the festival today, Youth Awards for 2009 were distributed.
Tongbram Romen Meitei of Takyel Khongbal Maning Leikai won the State Youth Award 2009 .
Along with certificate, he received a cash incentive of Rs 5000.District Youth Award 2009 was bagged by Sougaijam Sangita Leima of Lakhipur, Jiribam and Moirangthem Premier Singh of Sagolband Tera Bazar.
The award carries a certificate and cash prize of Rs 1000 .
In march past competition, Imphal East and Ukhrul contingents shared first position as Imphal West and Chandel won second and third positions respectively.
