Imphal, February 14 2023:
RK Rex starred with both the bat and ball to help PTRC-Patsoi beat 10-man REYS-Nagamapal by 3 wickets in the 6th match of the 7th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Tournament being underway at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
REYS racked up a modest total of 174 runs for 9 in allotted 40 overs after electing to bat first but RK Rex, who had scalped three wickets, cracked an unbeaten 93-ball 96 in the chase to steer his team to a 3 wicket victory.
REYS, despite facing a stiff opposition from PTRC bowlers, held themselves together to start the innings on a positive note until Sougrakpam Shangkar was trapped lbw for 19 runs by Ngariyanbam Johnson Singh to make it 32/1 in 8.4 overs.

The loss affected their run flow and things slowed down with Naoshekpam Manglemba getting caught behind the wicket for 25 runs for the second wicket as the scoreboard read 65 after 17.3 overs.
Md Basir Rahman who came in for S Shangkar however forged a 45-run partnership with Laishram Daniel (12) before the latter was bowled out by Gemson Mutum for the third wicket.
Gemson Mutum also bowled out Paul Zomi for a 5-ball duck in the 29th over and trapped Romario lbw for another 5-ball duck to leave REYS struggling at 122 for 5 in 31 overs.
Md Basir Rahman who clobered 9 fours on the way to his 75-ball 65 was then bowled out for the 6th wicket by RK Rex who also went on to remove Alfred Hmar for a 2-ball and Elangbam Joychandra in succession to complete his three wicket haul (3/43 in 8 overs) reduce REYS to 146 for 8 in 35.3 overs.
The innings ended with Nanao getting run out for 21 runs in the last delivery of the innings and Sapam Bikash was unbeaten on 18 off 15 deliveries.
In the chase, RK Rex who came out to open with Ngariyanbam Johnson (14) played anchored well and found the fence 12 times (10 fours, 2 sixes) as he amassed 96 runs off 93 deliveries to guide his team to the victory in 27.3 overs.
Sapam Bikash of REYS played a vital role for the team as he clinched four crucial wickets but his effort went in vain as the target proved too small.
Nanao Singh Laishram also tried his best to derail the chase picking up two wickets, but PTRC skipper Rex did well to keep his cool and led from the front despite seeing his partners depart cheaply.
Eventually RK Rex bagged the man of the match accolade.
