MU urges public to avail benefits of welfare schemes

Stating that the N Biren government is implementing various welfare schemes for the common people, Andro MLA Th Shyamkumar has encouraged eligible-people to get registered for the schemes and avail their benefits.
He was attending as chief guest of a function organised by district social welfare office, Porompat, Imphal East at the residence of the MLA at Angtha Ngarian Chingkhong on Tuesday.
Cards for Manipur Old Age Pension Schemes and Chief Minister's Widow Pension Schemes were distributed to 496 beneficiaries - 89 for widow pension and 407 for old age pension schemes District social welfare officer, Imphal East W Thamabati, Angtha GP pradhan Th Manihal, BJP Andro Mandal president M Babu, Development Organisation Andro Kendra president W Sanaton and Andro Nagar Panchayat former councillor Ch Tombi also attended the programme as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA highlighted various schemes of the state government including pension schemes for elderly persons & widows, CMHT and other welfare schemes while urging the eligible public to get registered for the schemes so that they could enjoy the benefits of these schemes.
He also spoke at length on various developmental works being taken up by the government through Go to Village programmes via local bodies.
Informing that a camp for Aadhaar enrolment, bank account opening, and registration for different welfare schemes will be held at his residence in March, he appealed to the people to attend the camp for taking benefits of the services to be provided in the camp.
He also urged ZP members, pradhans, ward members and councillors for their cooperation in the camp.
The MLA also made a clarion call for protecting wildlife and environment.
