Kie-Beh N'hok opens at T Khullen

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kangpokpi, DK Thangboi Haokip has said that one must not ignore discipline in any item of games and sports.
DKThangboi was speaking as chief guest at the inaugural function of the 4th edition of Kie-Beh N'hok (Ward Sports) organized by T Khullen Youth Club in memory of late T Akeng, Chief of T Khullen this morning at Brig RS Sirohi playground at the village.
He said that victory is not at all that matters, participation is more important.
The ADC added that one should not take games and sports as a 'cut-throat' competition.
Losing a game gives an opportunity to show real sportsmen's grace, dignity, generosity and nobility.
Although games and sports have great value in life it can also do much harm to students if it comes in the way of their studies, he pointed out while adding that games and sports must not be misused as an excuse to stay away from studies.
Addl SP Md Jakiruddin also attended the function as guest of honour.
While speaking at the function, he mentioned the significance of games and sports towards the youngsters of today's world in moulding and bringing them in the right path.
The Addl SP also said that young people have full of energy and if no healthy outlet is provided for it, it would transform into mischief, hooliganism and other undesirable activities.
Games and sports would check such mischievous activities, he added.
After hoisting the flag and inspection of the participating team the chief guest declared the tournament open.
Ten teams comprising of Ward No1 to 11 with exception of Ward No 8 is taking part in the memorial tournament.
