'The Kuki women' ready for release

A book titled "The Kuki Women" published by BOOKWELL from Delhi would be released in the month of November 2013.The book which is a collection of articles written by many authors has been edited by Hoineilhing Sitlhou, Assistant Professor of Sociology, University of Hyderabad, India.
The book discusses a wide range of issues pertaining to the Kuki society.
Some of the topics covered include Gender prejudice, Portrayal of women in folktales and myths, weaving, women in the informal economy as vendors, women organisations and collective protest, customary laws of the Vaiphei and Thadou women, Status of the Simte women, women's health, quality of life and healthcare accessibility, representation of women in Thadou-Kuki films, marriage system and linguistic representation of men and women.
