Two fail to turn up before Court

Following the decision of the Manipur High Court to cancel the bail granted to the seven accused in the Pallel drug seizure case, five of the seven accused including Colonel Ajay Chowdhry, turned up before the Special Court of NDPS today and have been remanded to 15 days judicial custody for the second time.
The five persons who surrendered before the Court today are former PRO of PIB (DW) Col Ajay Chowdhry; Assistant Manager of Indigo Airline, Ng Brojendro; Seikholen Haokip, RK Babloo and Lunkhohao Haokip.
It may be mentioned that the bail granted to the seven persons involved in the drug haul case by the NDPS Special Court following their arrest together with drugs containing Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride worth Rs 25 crore was cancelled by the Manipur High Court on Oct 3 with a direction to surrender to the Court within seven days.

In response to the Court's directive, five of them surrendered today.
However, two of the accused � Letminlal Haokip and Jangminthang Tuboi�failed to turn up before the Court today.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, a well placed source said that the Government will wait for the Court to take its own course and accordingly a man hunt for the missing duo may be launched.
Actions can also be taken up against the persons who stood surety for the two, as per the instructions of the Court, added the source.
Six of them were arrested along with a huge quantity of contraband drugs containing Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride worth Rs 25 crore on February 24 this year by Thoubal district police commandos at Pallel.
Another accomplice was arrested the next day from his home at Imphal.
All the accused were granted bail by the NDPS Special Court in July.
The bail order of NDPS was cancelled following a revision petition filed by the State Government before the Manipur High Court.
The huge consignments of drugs were sezied by a team of Thoubal police commandos at Pallel on February 24 this year, leading to an uproar against drug smuggling.
