1st MNCA Super Plate tournament : YWC (L), KCC kick off Group A campaigns with similar win, ESU thump SDC by 8 wickets

YWC, Langthabal beat Muvanlai, New Lambulane by 148 runs and KCC, Kongba registered a 116 run victory over PSC, Khuyathong to open their Group A league account in the 1st MNCA Super Plate Tournament which began yesterday under the supervision of the Manipur Cricket Association.
In the tournament's second Group A match staged at Model Higher Secondary and Oriental College ground, YWC Langthabal posted a commendable total of 264 runs for 8 in allotted 40 overs and bowled Muvanlai (MAF) out for 116 runs within 35.3 overs.
Jiko Sorokhaibam (56), Heisnam Manikanta (62) and Ngangbam Bishwash (51) scored half centuries to help YWC post a huge total in their innings which saw Sanjay Kaphle fetching four wickets for 62 runs in 8 overs as Soorat Kaphle bagged three for 48 runs in 8 overs.

In reply, Muvanlai slumped to 116 all out as Avinash Asmail turned out to be the highest run getter with 28 runs in his name.
Ngangbam Bishwash of YWC scalped thrice including Avinash to finish with the best bowling figure 3/27 in 6.3 overs and eventually bagged the man of the match title.
His team mate Y Vivek managed two wickets for 19 runs as L Bishorjit, Seram Robinson and Soubam Robinson picked up a wicket apiece.
Meanwhile at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, KCC elected to bat first and rode on Rohen Singh 57-ball 81 and significant scores by Nameirakpam Arbin (43), Nongmaithem Dijiraj (39) and Hijam Boba (39) to post a massive total of 306 runs for 8 in 40 overs.
PSC's Ibungomacha Hijam shone with the ball in this innings claiming four wickets for 47 runs while Ningthoujam Ranjan scalped thrice but spilled 79 runs.
PSC, in the chase, stumbled to just 190 all out only 190 runs within 36.2 despite middle order fightback led by Laimayum Prasanta (79) as Rohen Singh of KCC managed a five-four for 31 runs in 8 overs which contained 3 maiden overs.
Assisting him in the bowling attack was Loktongbam Ozzy who bagged three for 41 runs in 7 overs.
Rohen who added 81 runs and managed 5 wickets was named man of the match.
Elsewhere in the Group B league opener staged at Langthabal Public Ground, ESU thumped SDC, Laipham Khunou by 8 wickets courtesy Chongtham Mehul Shreth's four wicket haul and 33 runs contribution.
Put in to bat first, SDC bundled out for 76 runs as Hemchand Yumkham picked up five wickets for 21 runs in his spell of 7.4 overs and Mehul managed four wickets for 11 runs in 4 overs.
Ruhul Chanda (28) and Tarun Khagokpam (17) were the only double digit scorer for the Laipham Khunou team in their innings before ESU rode on Mehul (33 not out) and Yumkhaibam Shivajit (32) to post a winning 77 for 2 within 10.3 overs.
SDC's Vishal Jaiswal and Paonam Satyajit managed a wicket each in a lost cause.
Chongtham Mehul Shreth was adjudged man of the final match.
