BJYM identifies Kakwa violence mastermind

The violent incident during the first phase of election on February 28 at Kakwa Naorem Leikai was instigated by one Gokeshor alias Giri, who is employed at Manipur Legislative Assembly, alleged Lanthabal AC polling station No 20/18 polling agent and BJYM Langthabal Mandal general secretary L Rishikanta.
Addressing a press meet held at Kakwa Naorem Leikai on Friday, L Rishikanta rejected the clarified issued by Congress candidate's workers about the incident that occurred at polling station no 20/18 Kakwa Naorem Leikai on polling day.
He claimed that before the poll process started, Gokeshor frequented the polling booth.
Stating that he (Rishikanta) was one of the polling agents at 20/18 polling station set up at Social Youth Development Organisation Club, he recounted Gokeshor arguing with the club's president.
Rishikanta continued that he tried to call some elders on his mobile phone to calm things down, but Gokeshor started beating him on the charge of taking photos with some of Gokeshor's companions joining the thrashing.
Gokeshor along with around 50 other men then followed him to his house and started breaking his gate and attempted to torch the house to which his aunt Naorem Mombisana tried to meditate with the attackers but suffered a fractured hand as she too was assaulted.
Rishikanta further said that INC candidate O Joy's wife O Thoibi also vandalised the polling booth and asserted that very soon legal action will be taken up against the attackers.
