Imphal, March 04 2022:
Achieving a major milestone, 1930 new male recruits marched in perfect rhythm and synchronisation and passed out of the parade ground of Assam Rifles Centre and School at Shokhuvi in Nagaland on Friday.
The occasion was the special attestation parade to mark the completion of 44 weeks of grueling training in battle craft, weapon handling, jungle lane shooting and other specialization in counter Insurgency operations, said a press release from IGAR.
The passing out parade was reviewed by Lt Gen PC Nair, director general Assam Rifles, in the presence of Brig S K Sheoran, commandant ARTC & S and other senior officers of the Indian Army and the Assam Rifles, 281 proud parents and various local civil dignitaries.
Addressing the recruits, the director general highlighted the rich history of the Assam Rifles as the oldest paramilitary force of the country and its diversified role.
He called on them to inculcate all the aspects learnt during their training and work towards becoming good soldiers of the battalions that they would join shortly.
He also congratulated them and said that they had made their parents proud on the day, adding that they should uphold the traditions and values of Assam Rifles during their entire service.
The newly passed out riflemen (male soldiers) will now join their respective units in all frontline duties and continue to serve the country thereby making it a moment of glory not only for the Assam Rifles but also the entire nation, the release further said.
