Polling teams dispersed for second phase election

Polling and security personnel assigned for duty in the three assembly constituencies of Senapati district for the second phase of 12th Manipur Assembly Election scheduled for Saturday have been dispersed on Friday from mini stadium, Senapati.
Altogether 1,58,854 voters including 79,122 female voters will exercise their franchise across 228 polling stations in the district and they will seal the fates of 12 candidates of the three constituencies.
Out of 228 polling stations in the district, three polling stations have been designated as model polling stations while 47 will be manned by women personnel.
A total of 912 polling personnel along with one ASHA worker each in every polling station, 33 Sector Officer and Sector Police Officer, Micro-observers and 50 companies of security personnel have been deployed for smooth conduct of election.
Similarly, polling personnel assigned duty in Jiribam assembly constituency were dispatched to their respective polling stations from Jiribam DC Complex on Friday by district election officer W Malemngnaba Chenglei.
Speaking in this regard, Malemnganba informed that all the required polling and security personnel were dispatched as per ECI guidelines with personnel for the farthest polling station of the AC, polling station No 40/38 Narayanpur first among to be sent off.
On the other hand, Jiri College assistant professor Sagolsem Monalisha Devi, who is going to be a presiding officer of a polling station for the first time, shared that that Jiribam AC will have five polling stations which will be entirely manned by women.
During the sending off of polling parties, the police personnel and government officials were provided with EDC so that they can vote at the polling station where they are posted on duty along with distribution of items to be taken to the polling stations.
The programme was also attended by Jiribam SP Ksh Ravikumar Singh, additional deputy commissioner Jameson Hangsing, returning officer S Indrajit Singh, district information officer N Bidyananda Singh, ZEO Th Amurashi Chanu, assistant returning officers M Devananda Singh and Kh Ibotombi Singh, It may be mentioned here that Jiribam AC has 40 polling stations with four candidates in fray namely, BJP's Nameirakpam Budhachandra Singh, NPP's Makakmayum Abbas Khan, JDU's Md Ashab Uddin and Indian National Congress' Badrur Rahman.
