Imphal, October 16 2011:
Showing his appreciation of the editorial 'PAID NEWS & MEDIA ETHICS' which appeared in this paper on October 15, one reader writes that a change is needed in the working style of journalists in Manipur.
Paul Ming Yao of Guangxi, Guigang, China, through an e-mail continued that during his 15 days visit to Manipur, he was surprised when one of his friends in Manipur told him that reporters were paid to publish news for any function or occasion.
But in China, such practices are not permitted and that such acts are booked under severe laws, he added.
