Imphal, October 16 2011:
Doctors of erstwhile Jawaharlal Nehru (JN) Hospital have drawn the attention of the Government of Manipur seeking explicit specification with regard to service conditions entitled to a Government employee.
In a memorandum addressed to the Commissioner (Health and Family Welfare) as well as to Director JN Institute of Medical Sciences, the doctors pointed out that inspite of a Government notification (No.12/11/09-M(JNIMS) on March 10, 2010 enabling the medical practitioners to exercise option to join JNIMS, the Government is yet to issue relevant order on the matter.
Pointing out that doctors of the erstwhile JN Hospital have joined service under valid rules and regulations of the Government, the memorandum said the doctors should not be made the scapegoat due to failure or delay by the Government in processing relevant procedures.
On the otherhand, the memorandum contained suggestion that the present problem could be solved if doctors of the erstwhile JN Hospital currently working in JNIMS Imphal are either deputed or absorbed to the posts of JNIMS as soon as possible.
