Imphal, October 16 2011:
In view of the highly dilapidated condition of the road from Moirang to Khousabung-Bunglon, which is also known as Dr Kalam Road, The Khousabung Youth Club has taken the lead to repair the road themselves.
According to a press release issued by the Khousabung Youth Club, the road, though only 5 Kms long, can be regarded as a mini-highway considering the volume of traffic.
The road was black-topped only once during the last 75 years in 2006 ahead of the then President Dr APJ Kalam's visit to Bunglon High School.
Since then, the road has been completely abandoned with no Government agency paying any attention to it although the road is lifeline for the people of Thangjing area.

Highlighting the woes faced by the commuters and students because of the deplorable condition of the road, the club appealed to the Government to repair the road at the earliest in honour of the former President of India, if not for the poor rural villagers.
