Cinema hall proprietors lay down norms

Imphal, October 16 2011:
No cinema halls would be allowed to have special shows as it affects the daily routine with effect from November 1, 2011 and action would be taken up against the cinema halls which defy this restriction.
A resolution to this effect has been arrived at among others during a general body meeting of United Cinema Hall Proprietors' Association, Manipur held today.
The meeting further resolved that henceforth the share money of the producers and their cassettes would be given to them within three days of completing screening of a film in a cinema hall and the pending share money of the producers should be paid off within October 26, 2011.Otherwise, the defaulting cinema halls would be black-listed.
To maintain better relationship between the film producers and the cinema halls, the meeting also resolved that contract should be signed at the time of booking films for screening in cinema halls with immediate effect from today.
In case of defiance of this resolution, the films concerned would be black-listed.
Furthermore, it has been resolved that in case of signing contract for screening a film in stations where there are two halls, screening of the same in the other hall would not be allowed.
