Imphal, March 05, 2010:
Following retirement of Manipur State Legislative Assembly Secretary Th Megharaj, Y Indira has taken over as Assembly Secretary in-charge with effect from March 2. Born in 1954, Indira completed BA-LLB from Lucknow University.
She was trained in the arena of parliamentary practices and procedures under Indian Parliament and Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs.
She also got parliamentary fellowship from Institutional and Parliamentary Studies, New Delhi.
Indira joined service in 1982 as Under Secretary Research Officer.
She is also a diploma holder in Parliamentary Institutions and Procedures and Constitutional Laws.
It is said that she is the first woman in Manipur who has received such training.
