A Cabinet meeting held at the conference hall of the Chief Minister's Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, O Ibobi today approved the budget estimate 2010-11 and supplementary budget 2009-10 to be tabled in the forthcoming Assembly session due to commence on next Monday (March 8). On the other hand, the Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat has started taking up safety and precautionary measures for smooth functioning of the ensuing 7th Assembly session of the 9th Assembly.
The Cabinet of the SPF ministry met today afternoon under the chair of the Chief Minister, O Ibobi and discussed the budget estimate 2010-11 and supplementary budget 2009-10, which would be tabled on the floor of the House on the first day of the session.
The cabinet approved both and furnished the same to the Governor for his approval, a senior Cabinet Minister informed.
Other agenda discussed and approved by the Cabinet included appointment of Deputy Director of Education (S) Department H Mathang as OSD on contract basis for one year, appointment of two retired MSS Officers, Sheikholet Lhangum and W Amuba of the department of personnel of the state General Administrative Department on contract basis for six months.
They will look after the work charges held by them before they retired from service on superannuation.
The cabinet also approved to the appointment of H Tomba, MSS officer of finance department on contract basis for six months in the pay implementation cell of the state finance department and appointment of inspector A Gourakisham on contract basis for one year in the state vigilance department to the same post.
Meanwhile, the state Assembly secretariat has also started taken safety and precautionary measures for the smooth conduct of the session of the Assembly due to begins from March 8 till March 11. An office memorandum issued by the secretary in-charge of the Assembly Secretariat, Y Indira instructed all officers and staff of the secretariat to attend office at 9 am on all working days and remain in the office till the end of the day's sitting.
Arrangement for the movement of vehicles of the members of the House and officials of the state government has also been made for the smooth functioning of the session.
As per a office memorandum issued in this regard, vehicles of the Chief Minister and ministers will enter through gate no.1 and exit through gate no.2.Vehicles of Speaker and Chairman of the three financial committees will park inside the Assembly Compound.
All the construction and renovation works inside the Assembly Complex will remain suspended during the sitting days, stated the Chief Security Officer Th Nimai of the Assembly Secretariat.
An order of the Assembly Secretariat issued in the name of Speaker has, in the meantime, appointed Y Indira, joint secretary of the secretariat in-charge of the Secretary of the Assembly for an interim period effective from March 2. She will look after the charge of the secretary until alternative arrangement is made, stated the order issued by under secretary (Adm) M Shyam.The alternative arrangement was made after the Th Megharaj, joint secretary who look after the charge of the secretary retired from his service on superannuation with March 1 last.
