Imphal, November 29 2021:
Hill's Landownership Compensation Demand Association (HLCDA) has demanded the state government to pay compensation to land owners affected by the NH-37 road expansion project (16-52 package) from Keithelmanbi to Charoi Panthungba, Kangpokpi by December 16 .
The Association threatened to launch agitation in case of failure to honour its demand.
In joint statement, association chairman Thaitangam Riamei, vice chairman Lunkam Haokip and secretary John Dangmei informed that the road expansion works has started without providing any compensation to the affected villagers.
The association urged the authorities concerned to pay the compensation to the affected villagers by December 16 so as to avert possible launch of intense agitation to protect government's indifferent attitude.
