Progressive farmers' tour flagged off

Imphal, November 29 2021:
A study tour of selected progressive farmers from the 16 districts of the State was flagged off today by the Mission Director of Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), K Devdutta.
The study tour was flagged off from the office of Directorate of Horticulture and Soil Conservation at Sanjenthong.
The selected farmers will go to research centres outside the State and will conduct study on varied topics.
Speaking on the occasion, K Devdutta, the study tour has been flagged off today considering the improved situation of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He further stated that the tour has been organised with an aim to actualise one of the significant components enlisted in MIDH which is to enhance the agricultural production of the State thereby making the State self reliant in terms of food production.
The nominated progressive farmers or farmers representatives by District Officers concerned will tour the developed research centres including Shillong Potato farm, ICAR Barapani, Assam Research Centres etc, he added.
