Sehken ambush of Nov 13 NIA Judge seeks transfer of documents

Special Judge NIA Manipur today directed Chief Judicial Magistrate, Churachandpur to transfer all the dockets/documents regarding the recent ambush on Assam Rifles convoy at Churachandpur to them on or before December 10, 2021 .
The Court also directed OC Singhat police station to hand over all the related documents, case dairies, seized materials etc to the National Investigating Agency within the stipulated period.
The order was passed in connection with the application filed by the DSP, Chief Investigating Officer, NIA Imphal before the Court.
The Court heard Special PP NIA who submitted that a group of 'terrorists' attacked a convoy of 46 Assam Rifle near Sialsi village on Indo-Myanmar border under Singhat police station with arms and explosives on November 13 at around 10.30 am.
In the ambush near the Indo-Myanmar border, the Commanding Officer of 46 Assam Rifles, his wife and their son along with some personnel were killed.
The proscribed People's Liberation Army (PLA) and the Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) claimed responsibility for the ambush.
The Special PP further submitted that Singhat police station is investigating into the case by registering an FIR within the jurisdiction of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Churachandpur.
By an order of the Ministry of Home Affairs dated November 26, the NIA re- registered a case on November 27 under different Sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Section 25(I-C) of Arms Act and Section 5 of Explosive Substance Act.
The Court, after hearing the submission of the Special PP and on perusal of the application, directed CJM Churachandpur to transfer all the dockets /record to them on or before December 10 .
