Longmai CSO condemns beating of youths

Longmai Civil Organisation strongly condemned the brutal act of Manipur Rifles team led by Gyneshwor who beat up seriously two Longmai youths on June 21 along National Highway 37 .
In a joint press statement issued by Chairman, Longmai Pei D Adai, Chairman Longmai Bazar Board Dimthauchung, Longmai Students' Union (LSU) President Poujailung, Longmai Village Authority Secretary Lanthuigong and Longmai Youth League President Gongjai said that the two village youths identified as Gaimoipou son of Ningphanlung and Gaitoulung son of Gailoklung of Longmai village were severely thrashed by team of Manipur Rifles personnel near Tupul Namduanjang village in the late afternoon.
They alleged that the incident was informed neither to the localities nor nearest Police Station.
Gaimoipou was left unconscious and admitted at Shija Hospital while his colleague Gaitoulung was detained at Lamphel Police Station.
The organizations urged to compensate to the victims and unconditionally release of Gaitoulung.
The security personnel also booked the youths under suspicion in order to cover up their dastardly act.
