Distribution of Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension would start tomorrow in all the nine districts.
Around 68,160 pensioners have been listed under this particular pension scheme.
Speaking to media persons at her New Secretariat office, Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai stated that the earlier system of distributing old age pension only at the State capital would not be followed this time.
For the convenience of pensioners, pension would be distributed at all the nine district headquarters and each day would be reserved for a particular Assembly segment.
Pensioners in the age group of 60-79 and holding red and blue pension cards would be given a total amount of Rs 2800 each for 14 months.
For pensioners above 80 years, the total amount for 11 months would be Rs 5500 .
After the distribution of Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension is over, pension of 11 months for widows and disable persons would be deposited in their personal bank accounts, Mirabai said.
If any pensioner is unable to come and collect the pension amount personally, officials may be sent to deliver the pension amount at their homes provided they first send a written application, she added.
