AR personnel donate blood to cancer patient

HQ Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) donated blood to a patient at Sielmat Christian Hospital, Churachandpur on July 27.The 37 year old male is suffering from Myelofibrosis, a rare type of Blood Cancer, and is admitted at Sielmat Christian Hospital, Churachandpur.
The hospital approached HQ Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifles for the urgent requirement of rare blood group 'A -ve' to stabilize the condition of the patient in order to refer him to AIIMS, Delhi for Bone Marrow Transplantation, said a statement by Assam Rifles.
The statement continued that two officers of HQ Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifles were found to be of required blood match and voluntarily donated the blood.
