Manipur records 1000 new cases to take daily positivity rate to 15 pc, 11 deaths

Imphal, July 29 2021:
The four figure daily spike continued for the third successive day with Manipur returning 1000 positive cases in the last 24 hours.
The 1000 cases include one Central security personnel.
The 100Q new cases were detected out of a total of 6655 samples tested to take the daily positivity rate to 15 percent.
On July 27, the State recorded a total of 1165 new cases while on July 28 it was 1003 .
This is the 12th time in July that Manipur has returned daily figures of positive cases in the four figure mark.
The State recorded 1000 and above the 1000 mark on July 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 23, 24, 25, 27, 28 and now July 29.Along with registering 1000 new cases in the last 24 hours, Manipur also recorded 11 deaths due to the virus during the same period of time.
The 11 deceased persons were from Imphal West (1), Imphal East (4), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (2), Ukhrul (1), Tengnoupal (1) and Churachandpur (1) .
The COVID-19 Common Control Room said that out of the 11 deaths, 8 persons had co-morbidities and out of the 11, three had received their first dose of the vaccine.
Again out of the total only one had received two dose of the vaccine.
With the addition of 11 more deaths, the total number of people who have fallen prey to the virus has climbed to 1521.Out of the 999 civilians who tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, 502 were females.
The total 1000 positive cases were confirmed at RIMS (25), JNIMS (42), District Hospitals (723) and other testing centres (210) .
The 999 civilians who tested positive for the virus are from Imphal East (166), Imphal West (299), Thoubal (62), Bishnupur (133), Kakching (97), Ukhrul (23), Churachandppur (125), Chandel (23), Senapati (28), Tamenglong (9), Tengnoupal (2), Kangpokpi (29) and Kamjong (3) .
With the addition 1000 new cases, the cumulative figure of positive cases has gone up to 96,824 including 3975 Central security personnel.
The number of active cases is now 10,895 including 53 Central security personnel.
On the other hand 841 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours from home isolation (401), JNIMS (16), CCCs (139) and CHICs (285).However the COVID-19 Common Control Room said that the total number of people discharged should be read as 1016 as reports of 175 people being discharged was received only today.
The number of discharged persons was arrived at after reconciliation with reports from IDSP team, home isolation team, community home isolation team and hospitalisation team, it added.
The cumulative number of recovered cases is therefore 84,408 including 3917 Central security personnel said the COVID-19 Common Control Room and added that the recovery rate is 87.17 percent.
On July 28 a total of 22,746 people received their vaccination shots pushing the total of vaccinated people to 12,75,154.And out of the total the number of people who have received their second dose is 1,95,349 .
A total to 2341 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 369 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State in the last 24 hours.
