AR observes World Nature Conservation Day at Noney

Noney, July 29 2021:
Noney Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 22 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organized "World Nature Conservation Day", on July 28.In continuation of its long drawn efforts to promote afforestation and create awareness amongst the troops and locals to conserve nature, Noney Battalion organized a Mega Tree Plantation Drive on the occasion of "World Nature Conservation Day" with an aim to plant more and more trees for preservation of the forest and to promote awareness about forest conservation and to promote Government of India's initiative 'Clean Earth, Green Earth' amongst the troops, said a statement by Assam Rifles.
The tree plantation drive were also organized at Noney, Kotlien, Tupul, Haochong, Awangkhul, Khongsang and Nungba, area of responsibility.
Noney Battalion has been a forerunner in promoting such environment friendly initiative in Area of Responsibility.
Tree plantation drive contributing towards the pious goal of making supporting a sustainable environment, the troops of Noney Battalion have taken another step to fulfil its commitment of a clean and green environment Around 3225 saplings of fruits, shady and local variety of plants were planted in and around Battalion Headquarters, Company Operating Bases and along National Highway 37, added the statement.
