AR aids snake bite victim, patient in distress

Imphal, July 29 2021:
Medical team of Loktak Battalion of IGAR (South) saved the life of a 60-year old male who was bitten by a venomous snake on July 27 through prompt assistance at its Kangvai post.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the man from Leimatak village in Churachandpur district was rushed with bleeding and vomiting symptoms by the villagers to the AR Bn headquarters at Kangvai where the medical team immediately rendered lifesaving medical care to the patient and stabilised his condition before being referred to District Hospital Churachandpur for further treatment.
On the other hand, AR Churachandpur Sector donated blood to a patient at Sielmat Christian Hospital Churachandpur on July 27.The PRO said that a 37-year old male admitted in the Hospital has been suffering from Myelofibrosis, a rare type of blood.
The hospital approached HQ Churachandpur Sector Assam Rifles for urgent requirement of rare blood group 'A-ve' to stabilize the condition of the patient in order to refer him to AIIMS Delhi for Bone Marrow Transplantation.
Two officers of the Sector were found to be of required blood match and voluntarily donated the blood, it added.
In another development, Sajik Tampak unit of IGAR (South) provided assistance in opening a road stretch blocked due to landslide in Chandel district on Wednesday.
Due to incessant rains in Sajik valley during last week landslide occurred with debris including trees, boulders and mud blocking Sajik Tampak-Khongtal road near Aishi village.
The battalion troops rushed to the location and extended assistance in clearing the only lifeline for the border villages of Aishi and Khulmu-len in Chandel district.
