Imphal, June 19 2016:
North East Students' Organisation (NESO) has demanded the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) to reschedule the written test to be held on June 26 for the recruitment of different posts.
Speaking to reporters at AMSU Hqs here, NESO secretary general Sinam Prakash said that NEEPCO is set to conduct written test for the recruitment of Trainee Engineers (C), Trainee Engineers (E/M), Trainee Personal Officer and Trainee Accounts Officer on June 26 .
However, the organisation demands NEEPCO to reschedule this examination as it must be held within North East region only as NEEPCO is a company exclusively meant for the region.
He said that NEEPCO has notified 10 examination centres including seven in Delhi, two in Assam and one in Shillong for the said recruitment test.
He said that apart from giving preference to NE candidates, the examination must be held only in NE region.
Saying that there are many Engineering passed youths in NE States, Prakash urged NEEPCO to give preference to NE candidates.
Maintaining that NESO had submitted memoranda to Union Power Minister and NEEPCO Chairman regarding the matter, Prakash said that the organisation would take up alternative measures to disrupt the examination if it is not rescheduled at the earliest.
