AIMS, DESAM urge Centre, State Govt to end economic blockade issue

Imphal, November 13 2016:
While people continue to bear the brunt of UNC's economic blockade, Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) and DESAM today stated that the Centre and State Government should resolve people's hardships before November 15 or else would be held responsible for any untoward incident.
Speaking to mediapersons at Kwakeithel Girls' High School, AIMS president Yumnam Rajesh said that indigenous people of Manipur irrespective of communities have been living in peace since time immemorial.
Unfortunately, some have started to work against the larger interest of the people and society as a whole.

Due to the ongoing economic blockade, students and people have been facing great difficulties.
Van service has been temporarily suspended owing to fuel shortage.
"Students, who are the future of society and Nation at large, should be given a platform to learn knowledge freely in order to build a society we all envision," he said.
DESAM secretary general N Edison stated that the students could not attend normal classes and urged the Centre and State Government to resolve the issue at the eraliest.
