Imphal, November 13 2016:
The All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers Union has appealed to the United Naga Council (UNC) to relax the ongoing economic blockade for a short period of time.
In a press release issued by the union, Maimom Anil Meitei (general secretary) appealed to the UNC to relax its ongoing economic blockade on the two national highways for a short period of time taking into consideration the plight of the drivers and handymen who have been stuck at Mao, Kharkhatti, Noney, Nungba, Makru and Jiribam.
Shortage of supplies, medical attention and lack of proper Government response have taken its toll on the drivers and handymen, it added.
