Bishnupur, November 13 2016:
Demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes will do little to curb the black money menace, Moirang AC MLA and Parliamentary Secretary of YAS and Tourism M Prithiviraj has said.
He was speaking at a pension distribution programme that was held at Moirang today.
Prithiviraj said the scrapping of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes as a means to crack black money has done more harm than good to the people.
Demonetisation can not solve the black money issue, he stated.
The Congress party strongly condemns the move by the NDA Government.
The abrupt move by Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Government at the Centre has made common people all over India suffer.

"Black money hoarders will easily find a means to exchange their old currency notes.
The move will breed more black money than remove them," he said.
Demonetisation has struck Manipur really hard, he said adding that the move has made daily wage earners suffer more than before.
"The Government should have called an All Political Party meeting before taking the decision.
The move could have been a success had the Government led others share their knowledge regarding the matter," he said.
A child died at Bangalore due to demonetisation, he lamented asserting that the Government should have fully equipped banks and post offices before making the announcement.
"Demonetisation was a mistake.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a dictatorial decision," prithiviraj stated.
The pension distribution programme was attended by Councillors and ex-Councillors of Moirang Municipal Council, Kwakta Municipal Council Councillors, Kwakta GP Pradhan, ex-Pradhan and Members and leaders of Moirang Block Congress Committee as presidium members.
