Kpi police, DTO detain several curfew violators

Kangpokpi, April 01 2020:
Kangpokpi police and District Transport Office, Kangpokpi today detained several vehicles owner for violating curfew in Kangpokpi DHQs.
Mentioned may be made that select merchants in the district have been allowed to open their store three days a week amid the lockdown for the people of Kangpokpi to buy their needs.
However, the locals of Kangpokpi Ward no 1 to 17 and nearby villages who could do shopping by foot were restricted to shop with vehicles to avoid crowding and congestion.
Kangpokpi police, the local youth union and women organization were also entrusted to monitor the movement of market-goers during relaxation hours of the said three days.
Earlier, Kangpokpi police detained few curfew violators and released them after giving a stringent warning.
However, many still violated curfew and restrictions.
In an attempted to control curfew violators who also created crowding and congestion during the exemption day, Kangpokpi police and DTO Kangpokpi detained seventeen individuals who violated the curfew and released them after making them pay a traffic fine as per Motor Vehicles Act.
The drive was conducted under the supervision of MH Pandey, SP Kangpokpi.
The violators were also made to stand with placards which read, "We are the violators of lockdown at Kangpokpi DHQs and detained by Kangpokpi District Police and District Transport Office, Kangpokpi", "We drive vehicle on lockdown day at Kangpokpi DHQs and detained by Kangpokpi District police and District Transport Officer, Kangpokpi" .
