Imphal, April 01 2020:
New Step Organisation Heinoukhongnembi Makha Leikai has pointed out certain lapses in the distribution of NFSA rice to the people of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC.
A statement released by the organization conveyed that the MLA of the AC S Subhaschandra had announced that the total rice quota for the area is 1,57,330 kg.
However, rice was distributed based on the voter list, leaving out those who were not in the list.
Moreover, the total number of voter in Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC is 32,522 but if 4kg of rice are distributed for every voter then the total number of rice for the Kendra should be 1,30,088kg which bring up a question about 27,242kg of rice being left out.
Asking where this left out quota has gone, the organisation alleged that not everyone was given an equal amount of rice with some receiving only 2kg while others receiving 2 and 3 kgs and even some getting 5 to 10 kg of rice.
Pointing out the above facts, the association appealed to the Chief Minister to look into the matter and ensure that proper amount f rice is given to every person.
On the other hand, Kwakeithel Apunba Meira Paibi Lup has decried that only 3kg of rice has been given to each person even though 4kg of rice per person has been assured as part of the distribution of the CM's relief materials.
However, it lauded the Chief Minister for asking the people to collect the left out rice from his residence.
Lairenjam Sabal United Youth Club (LSUYC) has also decried that there the people of 21/41 Lairenjam Sabal have not been properly receiving their monthly rice quota for the past many years.
It claimed that the authorities concerned have not been distributing the necessary NFSA card to the beneficiaries while adding that only 2kgs of rice are being distributed to each house (having around five people) till date.
Now, when the CM's relief material was distributed to the people with the presence of the club, each person has gotten 2 kg of rice.
Seeking immediate attention of the State Government, the club has urged the authority concerned to find out the rice which has been deducted in the past years.
On the other hand, Awang Konjeng Leikai Women Welfare Association (AKLWA) has claimed that PDS items for the people of Konjeng Awang Leikai, Sangaiprou Mamang GP, ward no 4 have not been distributed properly and irregularly.
Meanwhile, people who are on the voter list are also not getting the PDS items as well as the emergency items distributed by the Government, it mentioned.
Alleging that such misappropriation has been going on since the past few years, it urged the State Government to look into the matter at the earliest.
